Sports Rehabilitation Therapy

“The treatment with Naomi is first class. Her knowledge and thoroughness makes for accurate diagnosis and in turn treatment. I now won’t go anywhere else.” Diana Norman (Athletics coach and International Hepathlete)

“After opting not to have surgery, Naomi has been treating my ruptured quadriceps tendon now for 18 months. Alongside specific rehabilitation techniques, which have been progressed throughout, I am amazed with the recovery and have even started jogging again” Wesley Duncan (Olympic Coach and Physiotherapist)

“Until 2014 I was a competitive club runner, representing my county and regularly competing over the marathon distance (I ran three sub 3 hour marathons in 12 months between Oct 2012 and Oct 2013) but in January 2014 I had a fall during a training camp in Lanzarote, resulting in a fractured knee cap, bone bruising and quite a bit of soft tissue damage. Since then I’ve been in an endless injury cycle with knee, hip, back and alignment problems and although regular Physio has been a huge help, I had reached a threshold with my recovery and just couldn’t get back to regular running. Pilates has been a huge help and is allowing me to build my training back up again after a lot of false starts over the last few years! Naomi explains every move and exercise really clearly so it makes sense in the context of everyday movement and in improving running form/economy. I can feel myself getting stronger already and am definitely seeing a reduction in niggles and twinges as I gradually start to build my weekly running mileage back up again for the first time in several years.”  Georgie Starkie (Marathon runner)

I practise Sports Rehabilitation therapy in a private studio based in Epsom, Surrey. I help people to recover from injuries and chronic pain by treating the root cause of the problem with unique rehabilitation programmes and hands on treatment.

My “sole” Purpose

I have a passion for treating dysfunctions in the foot and looking into how this can lead to compensations within muscles throughout the body often leading to injuy.

After years of orthotic therapy and more injuries than ever, I found from experience that strengthening the intrinsic muscles of the foot and ankle leads to a much stronger foundation and as a consequence a less injury prone, more efficient body.

Transitioning from orthotics that brace the foot to minimal footwear allowing the foot to function as intended is often a long and challenging road. Having studied foot mechanics in great detail and how it relates to mechanics further up the chain I now successfully guide patients with specifc rehab to meet these challenges restoring healthy function.

What is Sports Rehabilitation?

Sports Rehab Therapists are trained in Sport and Exercise medicine and Physiotherapy with emphasis on the design and implementation of exercise and rehabilitation programmes. We assess, treat and prevent a wide range of sport and exercise related injuries of people of all abilities to maximise perforamce and improve quality of life.

Why Sports Rehabilitation?

It can be difficult to find a simple solution to your injury woes. I aim to treat the underlying root cause of the issue and not just the symptom. I will do this by addressing any dysfunction of the muscle and surrounding muscles, restoring motion and control around joints thereby reducing pain and improving performance.

What to expect?

Assessment of current and previous injuries including movement assessment, gait analysis, treatment which may include tools and proper footwear, hands on therapy, and a strength and rehab programme to return safely to sport and exercise and performance enhancement.
